The Hampton Roads Rowing Club's annual Head of the Lafayette race was held on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Robertson Rowing Center at Lakewood Park, Norfolk, Virginia. The HOTL is a 5,000 meter head race upon the tidal waters of the Lafayette River and is a USRowing Registered Regatta. It is requested that hot seating be minimized within a category since the distance from the finish to the dock then to the starting line is approximately 2,500 meters.
