National Learn To Row Day, June 7th 2014

The 13th-annual National Learn to Row Day will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2014, in rowing clubs and health clubs throughout the United States. Competitive and recreational rowers range in age from 12 to over 90, so it is never too early or too late to take up the sport.

Hampton Roads Rowing Club will be open from 9am to noon to offer those who have never rowed before a chance to come and have a go.

Sessions will run on the hour starting at 9am and will include:

  • Welcome and tour of the boathouse
  • Learning the basics on the indoor rowing machine
  • Rowing on the water with our club members

If you would like to join us on the day, you will need to:

  • Wear comfortable work out clothing that isn't too baggy
  • Remove rings and bracelets
  • Wear socks and sports shoes
  • Bring a water bottle
  • Use sun screen & insect repellent

To register your interest in visiting us on June 7th, and for more information, please contact our National Learn To Row organiser.

The event is backed by US Rowing and Concept II (rowing machines)

If you are interested in learn to row, we run classes for sweep (one oar) rowing throughout the summer.
